The Michele Serros Collection

The Michele Serros Collection

Michele Serros, Oxnard Chicana writer, poet and social commentator passed away in 2015 and left her collection of artifacts to California State University Channel Islands. (https://chicanostudies.csuci.edu/about/micheleserros.htm) In addition, the rights to her work and artistic merchandise was donated to the Chicana/o Studies department. The books sold here on Mercado y Mas are the last available printed copies, thus a rarity. The t-shirts were re-printed by the Chicana/o Studies department to keep Michele's sense of humor and creativity alive.  All proceeds from sales will be used for cultural learning opportunities and book scholarships for current Chicana/o Studies de CI students. Aside from purchasing Michele Serros Merchandise, If you would like to help build her important endowment, visit the Give to the Michele Serros Endowment page. It is our hope to re-print her books in the future and keep her work alive for generations to come! Que Viva Michele Serros!
